Dear Friends, We invite you to join NRCAT today in calling on governors nationwide to take steps to ensure incarcerated people and corrections staff are protected during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our sisters and brothers behind bars who are incarcerated and those who work in facilities that house them deserve protection, dignity and care. TAKE ACTION: Write to Your Governor Today Join us in calling on your governor to ensure that each facility in your state has access to coronavirus testing, hygiene products, and protective masks. Also, urge your governor to ensure that incarcerated individuals are separated non-punitively. Finally, call on your governor to reduce prison and jail populations as much as possible through all available mechanisms of release. No one should be punished for illness and no one deserves to die in this pandemic, including those who are incarcerated. Thank you for raising your voice today!
